Exterior cleaning for a civic and retail town centre, public and shopping car parks, and the distribution and industrial sites along the M1 and the Dearne Valley, across Barnsley and the S70 to S75 postcodes.
Barnsley and the Dearne Valley
Barnsley is in South Yorkshire, a step south of the West Yorkshire towns, and its commercial estate is split between a redeveloped centre and a belt of very large units on former mining land.
The centre has been rebuilt in recent years around a new market hall and library complex, and it sits among older buildings including the Art Deco town hall, a stone civic landmark. That mixture of new public realm and older stone is where the fine work is: paving, cladding, glass and entrances that are seen by a lot of people every day.
The big surfaces are elsewhere. The Dearne Valley and the land along the M1 at junctions 36 and 37 hold large distribution and industrial parks, built on reclaimed colliery land, with deep yards, long clad elevations and very large roofs. Those sites are about scale, access for equipment, and drainage across ground that was built flat for heavy use.

Site visit first
Before any quote
For the large industrial units the visit is mostly about access, roof edge protection and where the water goes, in that order.
Large roofs and tall elevations are planned with access equipment and exclusion zones in place before any washing begins.
In the centre, the programme is built around market days and events so routes stay open.
The town centre and the valley estates are different jobs with different equipment.
Stone steps, plaza paving and glazed frontages in the redeveloped centre are cleaned at low pressure, before the day's footfall, and the stone elevations of older civic buildings are treated carefully.
Decked and surface car parks around the centre carry oil, leaf fall and chewing gum. Cleaning in sections keeps parking available, and re-marking is done in the same visit.
Warehouses along the motorway have yards that run 24 hours a day. Cleaning is done in phases around vehicle movements, and surface-water drains are identified before anything is washed.
A distribution roof can have a gutter run that is several hundred metres long. Blocked gutters on a unit that size cause water ingress that is hard to trace, so they are cleared on a schedule.
Sites built on former mining ground are broad, flat and under-drained. Silt and algae build in the low points and water stands long after rain, which affects both cleaning and re-marking.
Hospital and council car parks and approaches have to stay open, accessible and safe. Work is done in short, planned sections, and disabled bays are kept available throughout.

Barnsley is close to Wakefield, Huddersfield and Pontefract, and we work across all of them. Each has its own page.
In sections, with a lift or high-reach equipment, working along the length of the roof. The cleared debris is collected and removed rather than washed down, and outlets are checked as each section is finished.
Yes. Work is planned in sections, with accessible bays and routes kept clear and signage in place. The order and timing are agreed with the site manager beforehand.
Yes. Barnsley is in South Yorkshire, and we work there as we do across Yorkshire and nationwide. The site visit and the way we choose a method are the same.
