Exterior cleaning for retail parks and roadside units, a town-centre high street and public car parks, and the factory and warehouse sites around Batley, Birstall and the WF17 postcodes.
Batley and Birstall
Batley splits into two commercial halves: the roadside retail that has grown up where the M62 and the main roads meet at Birstall, and the older town centre that sits below it.
Birstall, at the edge of Batley, is where the retail has gone. A large shopping park, a run of drive-in stores and food outlets, and their surface car parks sit within sight of junction 27 of the M62. These sites are open long hours, have lots of fast-moving traffic, and have big, simple surfaces: tarmac, painted lines, steel canopies, and glazed shopfronts. They are the work most likely to be on a regular contract.
Batley town centre is something different. It is a compact stone-and-brick high street, with a market, small independent traders and a few council car parks, set among terraces and former mill buildings. Its commercial estate is mixed in age and small in scale, and the jobs are shopfronts, pavements, ginnels and yards, not acres of car park.

Roadside retail sites are visited with the centre manager or the managing agent, because the lease boundaries decide who is responsible for what.
On a shared retail park, the common areas are the landlord's and the units are the tenants', and we price them separately.
On the high street, access for the equipment is usually the biggest question, because the street is narrow.
Retail park work is about speed and consistency. High-street work is about access and care.
Long hours and fast turnover mean oil, tyre marks and dropped food build up quickly. A scheduled clean and a periodic re-mark keep bays, trolley bays and disabled spaces looking consistent.
Food outlets with drive-in lanes have a stretch of surface that carries grease and spillage every day. It needs a degreasing method and not just a rinse, and the run-off has to be controlled.
Steel canopies, signs and glazed fronts pick up traffic film from the main road. They are cleaned with high-reach equipment from the ground, away from customers.
Older shopfronts have painted timber, stone and brick, and need cleaning that does not strip paint or soak the joints. Pavements and ginnels behind are cleaned at the same time.
Valley mill buildings round the town are in mixed use. Roofs, gutters and the shared yards between them are the usual jobs, and old gutters are inspected before they are cleaned.
Town car parks sit among terraces, with leaf fall from nearby trees and overnight dumping. They are cleaned early, before the first users arrive.

Batley is next to Dewsbury and not far from Bradford and Leeds, and we work in all of them. Each has its own page.
Normally the landlord or managing agent, through the service charge, because the car park is a common area. We price the common areas separately from any individual unit so the costs can be allocated properly.
With a degreasing method suited to the surface, followed by recovery of the wash water. Grease and food waste are the problem, so a rinse alone does not solve it.
Usually, with smaller equipment and an early start. We agree access and any temporary restrictions with the council or the building owner beforehand.
